Our research focuses on developing regenerative therapies to restore vision after injury and disease. We use human stem cell-derived models, tissue engineering, electrophysiology, and neuroengineering to study how retinal ganglion cells develop, form functional connections with the brain, and can be replaced through transplantation. By understanding and promoting the mechanisms that drive neuronal survival, integration, and circuit repair, our work aims to advance new treatments for glaucoma and other blinding disorders.
