Congratulations to Alexius Lampkin (Bakshi Lab) who was recently awarded by The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program ( NSF GRFP). The program is awarded to students pursuing research based masters and doctoral degrees in STEM. This five year fellowship provides three years of financial support, cost of education allowance, and professional development. Alexius’ research will determine whether cannabinoid receptors in the basolateral amygdala, a brain region that promotes behavioral responses necessary for survival, have the ability to regulate fundamental brain processes necessary for survival.
